日本郵便とKDDI、郵便局でドローンのテストを始めます

石川県珠洲市でドローンを使って、通学路や災害の場所を確認します。

They will use drones in Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture, to monitor school routes and disaster areas.

２０２６年９月２８日から１０月４日まで、日本郵便とKDDIは、石川県珠洲市で新しいテストを行います。このテストでは、珠洲郵便局の屋上をドローンポート（ドローンが飛び立つ場所）として使います。

From September 28 to October 4, 2026, Japan Post and KDDI will conduct a new test in Suzu City, Ishikawa Prefecture. In this test, they will use the rooftop of the Suzu Post Office as a drone port (a place where drones take off).

テストでは「Skydio X10」というAIを載せたドローンが、自分で考えて飛びます。子どもたちが使う通学路の安全を守ったり、地震や大雨などで壊れた場所を確認したりします。

In the test, a drone equipped with AI called 'Skydio X10' flies by thinking on its own. It will protect the safety of school routes used by children and check areas damaged by earthquakes or heavy rain.

２つの会社は、２０２７年度までに、日本中でドローンを便利に使える仕組みを作ることを目指しています。

The two companies aim to create a system to use drones conveniently all over Japan by fiscal year 2027.
