He passed away at the age of 91 at his home in Furano City, Hokkaido

有名な脚本家で演出家の倉本聰さんが、２０２６年９月１８日に亡くなりました。９１歳でした。倉本さんの財団が９月２８日に発表しました。亡くなった理由は多臓器不全です。

The famous screenwriter and director Soh Kuramoto passed away on September 18, 2026. He was 91 years old. Kuramoto's foundation announced this on September 28. The cause of death was multiple organ failure.

倉本さんは、とても人気があるテレビドラマ「北の国から」を書きました。また、俳優や脚本家を育てるための私塾「富良野塾」も作りました。１１月３日に富良野市でお別れの会が開かれる予定です。

Kuramoto wrote the very popular television drama 'From the North Country'. He also established the private school 'Furano Juku' to train actors and screenwriters. A farewell ceremony is scheduled to be held in Furano City on November 3.
