日本政府、間違えて集めた遺骨をカザフスタンとミャンマーに返しました

日本人の遺骨ではない可能性が高いため、初めて外国に返しました。

２０２６年９月２３日、日本の厚生労働省は、間違えて日本に持ってきてしまった６人の遺骨をカザフスタンとミャンマーに返したと発表しました。日本が間違えて集めた外国の遺骨を返すのは、これが初めてです。

On September 23, 2026, Japan's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare announced that it has returned the remains of six people, which were mistakenly brought to Japan, to Kazakhstan and Myanmar. This is the first time Japan has returned wrongly collected foreign remains.

これらの遺骨は、第二次世界大戦で亡くなった日本の兵士を集めるプロジェクトで見つかりました。カザフスタンで２００１年に２人分、ミャンマーで２００１年と２００３年に４人分が集められました。

These remains were found during projects to recover Japanese soldiers who died in World War II. Remains of two people were collected in Kazakhstan in 2001, and four people in Myanmar in 2001 and 2003.

しかし、ＤＮＡや体の分析をした結果、これらの遺骨が日本人である可能性はとても低いことがわかりました。

However, as a result of DNA and physical analysis, it was found that the probability of these remains being Japanese is very low.
