２０２６年９月１６日、日本物理学会は「日本物理遺産」をはじめて発表しました。これは、日本の物理学の歴史でとても大切なものや場所をまもるための新しいきまりです。
On September 16, 2026, the Physical Society of Japan announced the "Japan Physics Heritage" for the first time. This is a new initiative to protect very important objects and places in the history of Japanese physics.
今回は５つのものが選ばれました。物理学者の寺田寅彦や湯川秀樹の研究の資料、東北大学の金属材料研究所にある古い資料、カーボンナノチューブを見つけた電子顕微鏡、そして理化学研究所の「２号サイクロトロン」ではなく「３号サイクロトロン」などです。
Five items were selected this time. These include research materials of physicists Torahiko Terada and Hideki Yukawa, old materials at Tohoku University's Institute for Materials Research, the electron microscope used to discover carbon nanotubes, and RIKEN's "No. 3 Cyclotron" (not No. 2).
