GPSで性犯罪者の再犯を防ぐテストが始まります

法務省が２０２７年度から新しい計画をテストします

The Ministry of Justice will test a new plan starting in fiscal 2027

２０２６年９月１１日、平口洋法務大臣が新しい計画を発表しました。法務省は、２０２７年度から、仮釈放された性犯罪者にGPSを持たせるテストを始めたいと考えています。このテストのお金は、２０２７年度の予算に入っています。

On September 11, 2026, Justice Minister Hiroshi Hiraguchi announced a new plan. The Ministry of Justice wants to start a test as early as fiscal 2027 to have sex offenders on parole carry GPS devices. The money for this test is included in the fiscal 2027 budget.

このテストは、参加することに同意した人だけが行います。GPSの機械は、体には直接つけません。保護観察官が場所のデータを見て、危ない動きがあったときにすぐに指導をすることで、また犯罪を犯すことを防ぎます。

This test will be conducted only with people who agree to participate. The GPS device will not be attached directly to the body. Probation officers will monitor the location data and, by providing immediate guidance when there are dangerous movements, prevent them from committing crimes again.
