比叡山で１２年の修行が始まる

３１歳の僧侶が外の世界と連絡を断ちます

A 31-year-old monk cuts off contact with the outside world

滋賀県大津市の比叡山にある南山坊で、２０２６年９月２５日に特別な儀式がありました。３１歳の僧侶、田口祖学さんが「自誓授戒」という儀式を終えました。

On September 25, 2026, a special ceremony was held at Nanzambo on Mt. Hiei in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture. Sogaku Taguchi, a 31-year-old monk, completed a ceremony called 'Jisei Jukai'.

田口さんは「侍真」という特別な僧侶になりました。これから１２年の間、外の世界と連絡を完全に断ちます。浄土院という場所にこもって、毎日、ご飯を作り、掃除をし、お祈りをします。

Mr. Taguchi became a special monk called 'Jishin'. For the next 12 years, he will completely cut off contact with the outside world. He will confine himself in a place called Jodo-in to prepare meals, clean, and pray every day.

１６９９年に記録が始まってから、田口さんは１１８人目の侍真です。第二次世界大戦が終わってからは、８人目になります。

Since records began in 1699, Mr. Taguchi is the 118th Jishin. Since the end of World War II, he is the eighth.
