２０２６年９月２５日、東京地裁は、１８歳未満の人が選挙運動をすることをすべて禁止する法律は、憲法に違反していると判断しました。裁判長は、若い人が自分の考えで選挙運動をすることを禁止する強い理由はないと言いました。

On September 25, 2026, the Tokyo District Court ruled that the law completely banning people under 18 from election campaigning violates the Constitution. The presiding judge said there is no strong reason to prohibit young people from campaigning based on their own ideas.

しかし、大人が１８歳未満の人をお金などで雇って選挙運動をさせることは、これからも禁止されます。また、原告が国に求めたお金の支払いは認められませんでした。

However, it remains prohibited for adults to employ minors under 18 with money or other means for campaigning. Additionally, the plaintiffs' claim for monetary damages from the state was rejected.
