Polite form (-masu)
過ぎます (sugimasu) is the polite non-past form of 過ぎる.
Examples
- 時間が過ぎるのはあっという間だ。 — Time passes in the blink of an eye.
- バス停を過ぎてしまったので、引き返しました。 — I passed the bus stop, so I turned back.
- 昨日は飲みすぎて、今日は二日酔いです。 — I drank too much yesterday, so I have a hangover today.
