結衣は、深夜の終電の座席に深く腰掛け、窓の外を流れる暗闇をぼんやりと眺めていた。車内には彼女の他に数人の乗客がいたが、誰もがうつむいたまま、不自然なほど静まり返っている。ふと見上げると、ドアの上の案内表示板に「次は、きさらぎ」という見慣れない駅名が点滅していた。違和感を覚えた彼女が周囲を見渡すと、乗客全員が全く同じ、奇妙に歪んだ黒い傘を握りしめていることに気づいた。外は一滴の雨も降っていないはずなのに、彼らの靴先からは冷たい水が静かに滴り落ちていた。
Yui sat deep in her seat on the late-night last train, blankly staring at the darkness flowing outside the window. There were a few other passengers in the car besides her, but everyone kept their heads down, and it was unnaturally quiet. Looking up suddenly, she saw an unfamiliar station name, "Next, Kisaragi," blinking on the information display above the door. Feeling a sense of unease, she looked around and noticed that all the passengers were clutching the exact same, strangely warped black umbrella. Even though not a single drop of rain should be falling outside, cold water was quietly dripping from the tips of their shoes.
